I’m interested in the freedom to express my ideas that the different printmaking media offer. For me, these processes have ranged from drypoint and etching to the more recent discovery of screenprint and the joy of working in colour that screenprint invites.

My inspiration comes while working on sketches and collages using materials gathered over time, or in response to current issues, from reading or sometimes through the simple act of playing with colour, shapes and marks.

Although I think of my work as tending towards the abstract, a recurring element is often a figure or object which maybe a metaphor for the underlying narrative. And it is the emotion from, or engagement with, this story that occupies and gives me energy while working.
